Bean Bags – Craft Hope Project for Liberia

I have had the wonderful opportunity to sew bean bags for orphans in Liberia through Craft Hope,  http://crafthope.com, an orginization which allows crafters around the world to help others in need. These bean bags will go to LOEP,http://www.loeproject.org/home,  and be used by teachers in Liberia.

I found working on this project a blessing, the instructions called for the bags to be filled with pellets, aquarium gravel or other non food items because of the hunger and climate found in Liberia. I now fill more blessed than ever to provide food to my children daily and, I am grateful to live in a country where beans and rice are cheaper than aquarium gravel. I would guess that very few in Liberia would consider paying for rocks.

I am eagerly looking forward to the next project from Craft Hope.

Bean Bags – Craft Hope

Bean Bag Beginnings
Bean Bag Beginnings

I found this blog a few weeks ago http://crafthope.com ,Craft Hope is a faith-based, love inspired project designed to share handmade crafts with those less fortunate. They have just begun a new project for bean bags and I have signed on to make a set of numbers 0-9, a set of shapes and a set of colors.I will probably make a few of extra sets for Christmas gifts and the Headstart Marc and Mary attended. This is going to give me a chance to use up the jean pieces I have left from mary’s party as well as some of the small scraps of fabric I have wish me luck? If you are interested in joining the fun let me know or go to the link above.
