I am thrilled to be helping with my sisters Bridal Shower. Her Maid of Honor called me and asked if I would help her out and I am jumping for joy, another party to help with. The colors for the wedding are blue and green with an accent color and the shower will have a shabby chic feel. I found this wonderful blue and green flowered calico that I have been using on all of the items I have crafted to tie things together.
The fabric is on the top of the invitations, some of the pennants in the banner and covering the clothes pins. I have gathered together solid fabric to cover the tables and I will use the flower print as a runner on all of the tables. I have also gathered together pieces of jadeite and milkglass for serving pieces. The jadeite is a perfect shade of green.
The shower will be rather large and many of the ladies will not me acquainted with all of the Bridal Party so I recently I created flower corsages for the ladies in the wedding party and the Mother of the Bride, along with the corsages I have made a yard sign to notified guests that they have arrived. I am very excited with how things are coming together and I still have enough time to crafts a few more items for decorations. With two weeks to go I am hoping to complete cupcake toppers and a cupcake stand before the big day.
I created the cupcake stand and toppers by copying the key fabric onto card stock and then using it along with complimentary card stock. The cupcake stand was made following this tutorial http://createstudio.blogspot.com/2011/03/cupcake-stand-tutorial.html. Just a note if you are going to make this stand the bottom can need to be 28-30 ounce (such as tomatoes) and all of the cans used need to be full, this adds weight stability to you to the stand. This stand worked great because I could customize it and it required no storage, the cans just went back into the pantry when the party was over.
Later this week I will post a tutorial on cover paint cans I used for my gifts.

Thanks Dad, this comes from a long line of crafty women including your mom. Now if I can learn to make pie crusts like your sister I will have it made.
