Stay Fresh Apple Slices

My kids eat a lot of fruit and I make sure to always have fruit cut for easy consumption when they have friends over. Not only does fruit make a healthy snack but if you buy in season it is inexpensive. I use “Fruit Fresh”to keep my apples from turning brown. You can find this in most grocery store where canning supplies are kept. It is not MSG it uses vitamin C and citric acid to prevent the fruit form browning. I add 1 TBS to a bowl of water than I chop about 6 apples into slices and dunk them in the water for about a minute than drain and store in a bowl in the fridge. These apples will stay good for 2-3 days and are great for packing in lunches or taking to your kids games when you have snack duty. A $5 bottle will make about 20 bowls of fruit far les costly then the pre-sliced fruit in the store.
